THE TRANSMISSION FLAME SERVICE
One of the most important activities in which members of AMTF can participate right now is the Transmission Flame Service (TFS). The TFS was developed in 1952 to help the students and Ascended Masters draw in enough light to planet Earth to allow Sanat Kumara to return to Venus. Cosmic Law required that he return to his home planet, Venus. For 2.5 million years, he had made Earth his home giving his light to the planet to keep it from being dissolved. This was a critical time, because without additional light, the planet would not continue to exist. The TFS was successful in its mission, and Sanat Kumara returned to Venus.
AMTF did not do the TFS until 1990 when a copy of the manual appeared on Werner Schroeder's desk. He did not know the manual even existed. At the same time he received a letter from Australia asking about the TFS. He knew it was time to begin doing the ceremony again. Those of us who are familiar with AMTF know that we have been doing special decrees that call for the list of open retreats for each year. Every year there is a thought form for the year, and the Ascended Masters pick the 12 retreats that will be open for the TFS based on that thought form. Since we don’t have an authorized messenger, we don’t know which retreats are open. We know four of them, because these four never change. Therefore, we have been doing the TFS only four times a year. During the other eight months, we did a special service but didn’t do the breathing exercise and visualization of the flame traveling around the Earth. During the TFS, the breath is used to move the flame from the open retreat around the world, covering the planet with the God qualities of the open retreat. This is a joint effort of the Ascended Masters and humankind. We still do not know the open retreats for the eight months, but in July, 2011, we developed a generic TFS for those eight months. This ceremony was inspired by the teachings. We do the breathing exercises and visualize the Violet Flame circling the earth. The TFS is performed on the Saturday that is on or after the 15th day of the month.
TO QUOTE THE LORD MAHA CHOHAN, “THE TRANSMISSION FLAME SERVICE IS THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO RAISE THE LIGHT QUOTA OF THE EARTH.” We hope you will make the commitment to do this very important ceremony with us. You are also welcome to join us in saying the decree at the end of this page which ask for the names of the monthly retreats so that we can expand our service.

The Need
In 1952, the Cosmic Law issued a fiat that mandated that Sanat Kumara be released, from voluntary exile on Earth, within the next twenty-year period.
In order that the reader can fully grasp the consequences of this edict, the following explanation is given:
Every planet, in order to maintain its orbit within a solar system, has to emit a certain amount of light. This light is comprised of the constructively-qualified energy of its inhabitants.
The Light, contained within Sanat Kumara’s Causal Body, was great. This energy would be taken with him on his return to Venus. Without the energy contained in Sanat Kumara’s Causal Body, the Earth, in 1952, emitted insufficient light. Therefore, Earth would not have fulfilled the condition to further warrant its place in this solar system, and mankind would have been left without a planetary home.
It was then, in 1952, that the Maha Chohan suggested the introduction of the Transmission Flame Service, to meet this emergency. He stated: “Sitting one day, looking back at beloved Morya’s initial endeavor to acquaint mankind with the existence of the retreats, I came upon the idea of having the student body gather all over the world and breathing in the flame of the quality of the retreat as the retreat is opened, feel the pressure and pull of the sphere of influence of each retreat, securely fastening it in place with the pegs of their energies and making it world-wide and world-engulfing.” (1)
The Response
When the chelas can look toward the GOAL and endeavor to sublimate their own energies and harness them for such efficacious endeavor as their own developed momentums allow in order to prepare for Us a harmonious, balanced, pliable, and efficient instrument, We can truly go ahead.
Certain demands that rise from the hearts of men open the door to Us to set into motion those activities which will result in a blessing and a specific outpouring. Thus the race can be benefited as well as the chosen chelas trained for future service when the pressure of energies of greater numbers of people will form the theatres of their experience.
Our initial interest centered in preparing an impersonal organ through which We might present the Law and the endeavors of The Brotherhood, and if We were successful in securing the co-operation of some unascended beings, We intended to gradually draw them into conscious co-operation and service with Our endeavors. However, history tells the tale. The surge of energy and the interests of the students required that We provide centers in which the earnest ones could immediately set into motion their new-found knowledge of the Law. The rising up of the co-operative group activities IMMEDIATELY was more than We had anticipated, yet We could not deny such expansion.
Therefore, We endeavored through the lifestreams particularly prepared for such service, to provide a way and means by which the stimulus of class endeavor could be offered to those who chose to avail themselves of the opportunity. Because of this response from unascended beings, the Maha Chohan Himself saw an opportunity of establishing the Transmission Classes and began the preparation of those spiritual force-fields which can and will be conductors of qualified energies of the Sacred Fire. The radiation from the Fire Temples is already being drawn through the substance of such dedicated foci. This in itself is a tremendous accomplishment which We had not thought possible for at least ten years after the initial impulse of Our New Endeavor! (2)
The Beginning
The first Transmission Flame Service was held on July 18, 1952, when a group of eleven students met in Philadelphia. It resulted in an intensified action of the Freedom Flame of Saint Germain in Transylvania. With regard to this event, the Maha Chohan said: “I thank you, each lifestream, whose breath formed a part of the initial pulsation for a cosmic event, whose records will remain on the pages of akasha as a permanent memorial to your presence with us.”(3)
The First World Wide Service
When the Lords of Karma revealed that the plan for the progress of mankind would allow us to open the retreats of the world to the consciousness of interested students, it became my particular desire to interest certain dedicated spirits at various points on the earth’s surface who might, at a given moment, receive the consciously directed radiation from the retreat that was active during the 30 day period, and by the power of their own light, re-create the sphere of influence in their locality, forming a transmitting center for the powers, gifts, and radiations going forth from that retreat, and then redirect these powers to a further point wherever waiting chelas would accept it and duplicate the process.
On October 18, 1952, we put this plan into action for the first time on a world-wide scale, various members of the brotherhood volunteering to take the places of unascended beings until such groups could be interested in the activity and assume the responsibility of being transmitting stations themselves. The light circled the planet round in a rhythmic pulsation from the heart of the Retreat of the Brotherhood at Suva.
From the Retreat at Suva, the golden flame of cosmic love was directed to beloved Saint Germain and the Brotherhood at Mount Shasta, who in turn redirected it to Philadelphia and New York. Beloved Lord Maitreya and the beloved ones in New York directed the currents to Transylvania, and from there they passed to beloved Serapis Bey and the Brotherhood at Luxor. From Luxor, they were directed to beloved El Morya and Kuthumi at my retreat at Ceylon, and these two brothers completed the circuit by returning the currents to the Brothers at Suva.
At the instant when the great Surya asked those of us who were present in Suva to in-breathe the flame, which formed the full gathered cosmic momentum of Suva’s service to life, each of the Masters drew that golden flame into his own body, which immediately became so brilliant with that concentrated essence that their very auras throbbed with a pulsation of power which has been increasing there since the day of Mu’s greatest glory. We all held this flame within us, adding to the momentum, quality, color and tone of our own lifestreams, gained in God’s service. Then, at a given instant, we all breathed that flame out across the Pacific Ocean into the retreat and the loving presence of beloved Saint Germain and the Brothers at Shasta.
The picture as seen with the inner eye looked like sheet lightning, which lit up the Pacific Ocean as with a golden flame, and through that lightning a clearly defined blue ray connected the brotherhood at Suva with the Brotherhood at Mount Shasta. When the blue ray connected with the heart flame of Saint Germain and his Brotherhood, it produced what seemed like an inner explosion at Mount Shasta, the rays from it running north and south, up through Alaska and down the western coast of the United States, and on down the South American continent as far as Cape Horn.
The light from this flame emitted from the heart of Shasta, then spread out eastward, again with that blanketing activity similar to sheet lightning, and the directed blue ray forked off at Chicago into Philadelphia and New York, where again a similar blue ray explosion sent a direct current up through Newfoundland, Greenland and Iceland, and southward along the eastern seaboard of the United States into Cuba, the West Indies and the eastern coast of South America. The beloved Lord Maitreya in New York and the beloved Victory in Philadelphia, again directed the blue ray to the Brothers in Transylvania, and the same sheet lightning swept across the Atlantic Ocean, Suffusing the British Isles, Norway and the western coast of Europe and Africa.
The Brothers at Transylvania again redirected that explosive action of the electric blue ray northward through Russia and the Near East, and the blue ray was sent down into the Retreat at Luxor. Beloved Serapis and the Brotherhood there again formed the nucleus of a light explosion which filled the entire African continent and the Indian Ocean with this blue sheet lightning. The blue ray from beloved Serapis’ retreat was directed to beloved Morya and Kuthumi in India and the light explosion there directed the flame up through Siberia, China and Malay, from which point the blanket of light passed again into the heart of Suva, completing the circuit and giving Australia, Antarctica and the eastern sea coast of Asia the beneficence of its light.
In the course of the half hour during which the beloved students provided the nucleus of unascended beings, which made this magnificent experience possible, the globe was encircled 30 times. At the final time the momentum had risen to such a point that there was no longer distinguishable any separation in the rhythm by which the light was transmitted, the entire globe being held in a golden flame, the axis resting upon a blue lotus and the atmosphere up to the 10,000 foot level completely permeated with the powerful fiery breath of the cosmic flame of the cosmic light, which shall be its redemption.
It is always most difficult to transmit light energy waves across bodies of water. I thank you, each lifestream, whose breath formed a part of the initial pulsation for a cosmic event, whose records will remain on the pages of akasha as a permanent memorial to your presence with us and the voluntary contribution of your breath to this service.(4)
The Success
In July of last year, when this humble experiment first began, the sphere of influence of each retreat covered a localized area, but there were no conscious unbroken connections between these foci of light and power. When the student body first contributed its timid breaths, there being but one such group of unascended beings conscious of our endeavor, those combined breaths did not reach across the Atlantic Ocean, and it was the pleasure of the Ascended Host to provide the necessary strength, impetus, and cosmic breath to carry that frail offering around the world. Like a “wisp of smoke,” the student’s breath was dissipated at the close of the ceremony.
As the year has progressed, and as more and more groups of unascended beings are participating, the power and momentum of the students carry the breath around the world—accomplished solely through the conscious endeavors of unascended beings. We merely intensify the flame.
Because this contribution has come voluntarily through the hearts of members of the human race, the Law has permitted us to sustain this channel through which the energies flow, and it is a tremendous forward impetus for our endeavors, for rather than receiving the “food” once in every thirty-days, all kingdoms are receiving it every second throughout this period.
Each time the group activity is repeated, all the breath released from each lifestream is woven into this “spiritual track” to widen the bridge, so that from a tiny “thread,” which is barely perceptible among the shadows of Earth’s present garments of pain and confusion, it will one day be a blazing highway as wide as Earth’s periphery, and then all will see, know and manifest God accomplishment. Through the constancy of the application of the students, the spiritual bands of light and energy became a permanent track of Light, which endured during the entire thirty-day cycle, during which the retreat was open. Therefore, the entire momentum and power of radiation of the retreat became a constant pulsating activity, engulfing the entire planet, during that time.
Whereas, in the beginning of the Transmission Flame Service, the flame circled the Earth several thousand feet above its surface, at a later stage, the flame, for a maximum effect to mankind, could be projected right along the surface of land and sea. As this action occurred again and again, the pull of the senses, appetites and passions, which are all part of the gravity by which man is held in the lower octaves, was tremendously lessened.
The success of the Transmission flame Service (TFS) exceeded all expectations of the Great White Brotherhood. Already, at the end of 1955, the Light of the Earth had increased to such an extent, that Sanat Kumara could be released.
TO REPEAT, ALL THE CHURCHES IN THE WORLD, ALL THE METAPHYSICAL INSTITUTIONS, EVEN THE I AM ACITIVITY, WITH ALL THE DECREEING, WORTHWHILE AS IT WAS, COULD NOT HAVE PREVENTED THE DISSOLUTION OF THE PLANET. THE ASCENDED MASTERS GAVE THE MAIN CREDIT, FOR KEEPING THE EARTH IN ORBIT, TO THOSE STUDENTS OF THE BRIDGE TO FREEDOM WHO PERFORMED THE TFS. (6)
You have each asked me, at one time or another, how you may assist in this endeavor, and I say to you, my children, that EXPANDING THE TRANSMISSION FLAME IS ONE OF THE MOST EFFICACIOUS MEANS OF AWAKENING THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF THE PEOPLE, because the light stirs the flame in the heart into action, and in a divinely natural way illumines the intellect, THEREBY AROUSING AN INTEREST IN GOD’S PLAN FOR THE UNIVERSE. These Transmission Flame activities are very dear to the hearts of the entire Brotherhood, because through the projection of constructive thought, carried on the united breath of both ascended and unascended beings, we hope to fan the flame in the heart of the balance of mankind to the place where they will speedily awaken to a realization of the mission for which they came into embodiment and take steps toward the fulfillment of their divine plan. The Continuation
The TFS was re-introduced by the Ascended Master Teaching Foundation in 1990. Since then, students in many parts of the globe gather in a world-wide service, to be receivers and transmitters, to magnetize and radiate the God-qualities of the Ascended Master Retreat that is open during a particular time period, stepping down its vibrations, so they can be of maximum benefit to the four lower bodies of mankind.
Classes are held when the Teton Retreat is open (twice a year), and then when Shamballa and the Resurrection Temples are open. These retreats were consistently open during a certain period in the 1950’s when Geraldine Innocente was the authorized messenger of the Brotherhood.
The Transmission Flame Service depends on reliable, committed disciples, who will be both receivers and transmitters. The Ascended Masters said that, to be a receiver, only, of the higher teachings, without transmitting, could be likened to the action of a sponge that only absorbs. The Maha Chohan considered this to be a grievous fault.
According to the Masters, if a student offers to contribute some of his breath toward the progress of the race, he automatically receives, from life, a greater proportion of the gifts that lie within the substance of the air and the ethers. Chelas, who volunteer to participate in the Transmission Flame Service, become active working partners of the Great White Brotherhood. (9)

In the name, power, and authority of my I AM presence, I call on the Ascended Beings Victory, the Goddess of Liberty, the Goddess of Light, Archangel Michael, the Maha Chohan, Saint Germain, El Morya, Mother Mary, and Cherubim Lovelee:
I ask for your assistance in obtaining, in a real and tangible way, a list of Ascended Master Retreats which will be open during each calendar year
